St Kitts and Nevis reduces quarantine to 24 hours for fully vaccinated travellers

Now the passengers who would be arriving in St Kitts and Nevis would only have to live in quarantine for 24hrs. The Government has made these changes to the quarantine period.

On October 7 from 5:01 am, the Statutory Rules and Regulations No. 38 of 2021 became effective.

The Statutory Rules and Regulations for all travellers arriving after being fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus are:

  • Shall remain in a government-approved COVID-19 Hotel or quarantine facility for a period of 24 hours, COVID-19 test sample should be collected within the given time.
  • May quarantine at a private residence approved by the National COVID-19 Taskforce, with the written consent by the Chief Medical Officer in discussion with the Commissioner of Police and shall continue in quarantine for a period of twenty-four hours, and a COVID-19 test sample would be taken within that period.

The travellers would be released after getting a Negative RT-PCR test from the quarantine facilities.

The new changes have been making it easy for the new travelers who have been planning to come to St Kitts and Nevis for the Christmas and Carnival season. As per the old rules and regulations that were in place stated that the person who is fully vaccinated have to be under quarantine until the person does not produce a negative RT-PCR test. The person has to be in quarantine for four days.

The person who is fully vaccinated would be kept under quarantine for 24 hrs till the person results negative in the RT-PCR test, and on the other hand, the person who is not fully vaccinated would remain under quarantine for 14 days at least. This regulation would remain the same that was also in old regulations for unvaccinated travelers.

The Statutory Rules and Regulations stated that a person the person who would not be fully vaccinated will be kept in the quarantine facilities for 14 days or the person could quarantine himself in government.

Further it added, “quarantine, for a period of 14 days at their own cost for COVID-19 approved security services, at a private residence certified by the National COVID-19 Taskforce, with the written permission of the Chief Medical Officer in consultation with the Commissioner of Police; and shall only be released from quarantine upon receiving a negative RT-PCR test.”

The Emergency rules for St Christopher and Nevis further restored the curfew, which starts from 1:01 am until 5:00 am daily.

The Statutory Rules and Regulations No. 38 of 2021 will be in effect until 5:00 am on October 21, 2021.
