St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew wishes International Youth Day with warm message
St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and the leadership of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party joins the rest of the world in observing International Youth Day on Friday, August 12, 2022. Specifically, the labour Party appreciates and celebrates the strides made by young people across the Federation and their potential to make the world a better place.
PM Drew stated that the SKNLP prides itself on the assistance to advance young people over the years. From education to employment, the SKNLP has and will always lead the cause of addressing issues that affect the young people of St Kitts and Nevis.
“Our new administration will put our nation’s youth at the centre of planning by revitalizing and aggressively pursuing a National Youth Policy that leverages the vigour, energy, creativity and talents of our youth and gives them a voice in the most serious and important national debates,” said the prime minister.
He added that listening to young people about the issues that matter to them is also an important commitment of the St Kitts- Nevis Labour Party. He stated that the nation needs the youth to find solutions to 21st Century challenges.
“Happy International Youth Day to all the young people of St Kitts and Nevis and the world, who are pushing against all odds, who continue to challenge the status quo, who refuse to put limitations and restrictions on their success, and whose lives are dedicated to serving others,” he added.
Besides this, Geoffrey Hanley, parliamentary representative for Constituency 1, also extended warm wishes on International Youth Day. He stated, “Today we celebrate International Youth Day and the opportunity we have as a people to paint the world with hope for young people to excel. This hope closely aligns with the theme for this year’s International Youth Day: Intergenerational Solidarity; Creating a world for all ages.”
He stated that it simply means that they progress as a nation when they stand in unison day by day, year by year, to solve the problems of the world so that future generations will be better for it. They are stronger together, and the young people’s future depends on the quality of life they fight for Today.
