Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew assured the citizens of constituents of St Peter's; he has been in touch with the Water Department, which is working very hard to resolve the water issue.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew assured the citizens of constituents of St Peter’s; he has been in touch with the Water Department, which is working very hard to resolve the water issue. 

The Water Services Department’s crew is still at work repairing the well that supplies St. Peters. The work is expected to be completed by 5 pm today, Monday, 3rd October. The Department appreciates the patience of the residents in the affected area.

He also shared another update from the Water Services Department regarding the water issue in St. Peter’s.

PM Terrance Drew stated that he had received direct communication that the main well that supplies the area had developed a mechanical fault. He understands that the team worked into the evening yesterday, undertaking emergency repairs and that the supply was interrupted for most of yesterday.

The team also informed him that it is expected that supply will be completely restored today. An apology has been extended by the Water Services Department for any inconvenience caused as they continue to carry out their work.

The Water Services Department also informed that they are still undertaking emergency repairs to their well, which supplies the St. Peter’s community.

As a result, most of the residents will continue to experience an interruption in supply throughout today, Monday.

The government of St Kitts and Nevis stated that they expected the repairs to be completed by 4 pm. Once the supply is turned back on, it will take several hours for the lines to be filled, and hence persons at the higher elevations will not receive supply immediately.

The Water Services Department regrets this inconvenience which is beyond their control.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew stated that the healthcare sector is a top priority. They will have customer service and professional training for all healthcare workers. This is to further improve the quality of care.
