St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, and Resident Ambassador David Rivero Perez of the Republic of Cuba both were at a Social Gathering Saturday Night, which was organized by the Embassy of Cuba in St Kitts and Nevis and the twin-island Federation Cuban Alumni Association.
Also in attendance were St Kitts and Nevis Cuba Friendship Association, Past Cuban-trained Graduates, Cubans living in St Kitts and Nevis and specially invited Guests.
St Kitts and Nevis and Cuba established a Diplomatic Relationship in 1995, and our Present Prime Minister- Dr Drew, was among the first set of Students to benefit from the Scholarships offered by The Republic of Cuba. To date, over 100 Students have studied in Cuba in various disciplines, including Medicine, Engineering, Psychology and Education, and there are others present in Cuba.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis- Denzil Douglas stated, “However, we are especially proud of all the accomplishments of our Students over the years, but PM Hon Dr Terrance Drew, is the FIRST to become Prime Minister in St Kitts and Nevis and maybe the Caribbean. And may the diplomatic relationship both countries enjoy continue for the benefit of both countries and people.”
On the other hand, Dr Geoffrey Hanley visited the Ministry of Ecclesiastical and Faith-Based Affairs and Human Settlement today (August 30, 2022). The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Ecclesiastical and Faith-Based Affairs and Human Settlement met with Brenda Boncamper, Permanent Secretary in Ministry, and staff members during the visit and were able to exchange ideas.
Dr Geoffrey Hanley stated in a social media post, “PS Boncamper provided me with an insightful briefing on the Affairs of the Ministry, and I am extremely excited about taking this Ministry to the next level. Through this Ministry, it is my intention to positively touch and transform the lives of our people. We will work diligently to ensure that the people in our various communities benefit from the vigilance and vision of our team.
