St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, attended The Kittitian and Nevisian Association Inc. (KANA) 20th Annual Mother’s Day Gala at Eastwood Manor in New York on Sunday. 

He took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the Gala. PM Terrance Drew said, “On Sunday, I attended The Kittitian and Nevisian Association Inc. (KANA) 20th Annual Mother’s Day Gala at Eastwood Manor in New York as the Guest Speaker.” 

The event was hosted by author and educator Clytia Manning. Governor-General Dame Marcella Liburd GCMG, JP, and Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office were also present

PM Terrance Drew expressed pleasure in attending the event and noted, “It was a pleasure addressing the mothers present.” He also extended congratulations once again to KANA for a successful event and to the honourees.

“I had the privilege of presenting the awards to the honourees, Norma Dolphin, Andrea Nandi Gumbs, Emerald Merritt, and Da Flame. Continue doing the great work that you do, “said the prime minister. PM Terrance Drew is Guest Speaker at KANA’s 20th Annual Mother’s Day Gala in New York. 

 Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has accepted an invitation from the New York-based Kittitians & Nevisians Association (KANA) to be the Guest Speaker at the 20th Annual Mother’s Day Gala. The Gala, on Sunday 14th May 2023, was being held under the Distinguished Patronage of Prime Minister Drew and took place at the Eastwood Manor, 3371 Eastchester Road in the Bronx, 10469, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A cocktail hour preceded a dinner during the event, which also included the honouring of three mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day. Prime Minister Drew will present the awards to deserving mothers. According to the organisers of the annual event, music was provided by DJ Delbert & Band. Special Guest is Da Flame, singer, DJ, writer, and composer.

During the ceremony, Clytia Manning, an author, dedicated educator, and children’s advocate, Manning taught at the Verchilds High School and the Sandy Point High School, now the Charles E. Mills Secondary School, was awarded.
