St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis artist Byron Messia reached Billboard’s charts for the first time with his latest LP, No Love. The set, released January 20 through Ztekk/Simple Stupid/Geffen Records, debuts at No. 8 on the Reggae Albums chart, earning 1,000 equivalent album units in the latest May 26-June one tracking week.
The project debuts on the strength of its breakout Dancehall-centric trap hit “Talibans,” which tallied 1.5 million US streams (up 64%) in the latest tracking week. Messia has previously released five additional albums: Different Perspectives, Top 10 (2017), Byron Messia (Top 2018), SIGH Remastered, HitsTape and Pills Nd Pain.
The Talibans single has racked up 10,000 units in the US market for the week of May 26 through June 1. This included 200 copies in song sales and 1.5 million in audio and video streaming. Since its release on January 20, the song has accrued 39,000 US units, including 700 in song sales and 5.4 million in audio and video streamingm, as per sources.
Byron Messia, 23, joins top headliners Spice, Morgan Heritage and Busy Signal at the highly anticipated Belize International Music and Food Festival on July 29 and 30.
