St Kitts and Nevis: The government of St Kitts and Nevis has identified the lands for the construction of “two (2) model NHC Smart Homes“. The homes will exemplify the future of residential living in the country.

The Government of St Kitts and Nevis, in collaboration with the National Housing Corporation (NHC) and East Coast Housing Development Limited (ECH), successfully conducted a site visit and walk-through to identify lands.

This landmark event took place in the Conaree and Taylors communities, where Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Bryan Singh and esteemed members of the East Coast Housing Team and Shawn White, Chairman of the NHC Board and Team were present to witness this significant step towards advancing sustainable and innovative housing solutions.

The walk-through event aimed to confirm the locations for the development of two (2) model Smart Homes that would exemplify the future of residential living in our country.

Prior to this site visit, the NHC team explored the selected lands in Conaree and Taylors, evaluating various factors such as accessibility, environmental impact, and community integration.

The identified lands offer ample space for the construction of two model smart homes – a 2-bedroom home in Conaree and a 3-bedroom home in Taylors.

These model homes will serve as prototypes for future housing projects, showcasing cutting-edge technology, energy-efficient features, and modern amenities that will elevate the standards of living for our citizens.

The model homes are designed to be fully furnished with top-of-the-line appliances, air conditioning systems, and sustainable water solar panels. In addition, the properties will be equipped with secure fencing to ensure the safety and privacy of their residents.

During the walk-through event, the attendees had the opportunity to discuss the incorporation of smart home technology and eco-friendly elements that align with the government’s commitment to sustainability and green initiatives.

These features will not only optimize comfort and convenience for the occupants but also contribute to the reduction of energy consumption, paving the way for a more environmentally responsible housing sector.

In speaking with Prime Minister, he stated that “We are thrilled to embark on this visionary project that emphasizes the importance of embracing smart living and sustainable practices in our country’s housing sector. These model Smart Homes will set new standards for future developments, and we are confident that this initiative will foster a more resilient and energy-efficient housing landscape.”

The joint efforts of the Government, NHC, and ECH demonstrate a shared commitment to creating modern, livable, and forward-thinking communities for our citizens.

“The model smart homes will serve as an inspiration for future developers and homeowners, setting a precedent for the evolution of housing in our country,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The NHC encourages public engagement and participation in shaping the future of our housing infrastructure. They are a pioneering corporation dedicated to driving innovation in the housing industry.

With a focus on sustainable practices and smart home solutions, the government aims to create communities that offer the highest standards of living for our residents.

As the project progresses, including the date of the Ground Breaking Ceremony, updates will be provided to the public and to the media.
