St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival announced the profile of flow junior Calypso Special Feature. The contestants will participate in the pageant of Sugar Mas 51.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival announced the profile of flow junior Calypso Special Feature. The contestants will participate in the pageant of Sugar Mas 51. 

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐁𝐁, reigning Junior Calypso Monarch (High School Category), known in the calypso arena as ‘𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞’.

He is 17 years of age and attends the Nevis Sixth Form College.

Terron has been enjoying an illustrious career in Junior Calypso for the past 10 years and has won eight titles; five consecutive crowns in the National Carnival Junior Calypso Competition and three consecutive crowns in the Nevis Culturama Junior Kaiso Contest.

For Sugar Mas 51, Terron will be making his last appearance in this competition and is very eager to perform as the competition has not been held since 2019. He has already declared that he will transition to the senior ranks where he hopes to maintain the successful streak.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐎𝐍, 17 years of age, known in the calypso arena as ‘Mighty Jay’. He recently graduated the Gingerland Secondary School.

Marques started singing at the tender age of six and competed for the first time at age seven. Each time he participated in the National Carnival Junior Calypso Monarch, he placed in the top three. He also placed second in the Nevis Culturama Festival Junior Calypso Monarch 2022. Marques’ mom recalls that the first calypso was ‘Stay in Your Lane’ by the late Cecil’ King Rockafella’ Rock. When asked what he is looking forward to, Marques said that he intends to bring his A-Game for his final Junior Calypso Monarch Competition.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐈𝐉𝐀𝐇 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐎𝐍, known in the calypso arena as ‘Princess Kali’. She is ten years of age and attends the Joycelyn Liburd Primary School.

She made her debut in the Junior Calypso field in the 2022 Nevis Culturama Festival where she placed 1st runner up. She enjoys singing, playing netball, dancing and socializing with her friends. In the future she wishes to become a teacher. Aleijah is looking forward to giving her best performance on the night of the show.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐎𝐍, known in the calypso arena as “Princess Neveah” and is a student of the Gingerland Secondary School.

This 16 year old is no stranger to the stage as she has captured many crowns including this year’s Nevis Culturama Festival Junior Calypso Monarch. She made her debut in the Junior Calypso competition when she was nine years old.

She enjoys singing, playing netball, dancing and socializing. In the future she wishes to become an entrepreneur. Shante is looking forward to giving an exceptional performance on the night of the show.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐎𝐍, known in the calypso arena as ‘Dequon’. The 13 year old student of the Gingerland Secondary School, embarked on his calypso journey in 2019, and placed 2nd runner up.

Dequon often boasts that he can make music from any item for in his eyes anything can be a musical instrument. He was inspired to sing calypsos by his late great-grandfather Cecil ‘King Rockafella’ Rock. When asked what he is looking forward to in the competition Dequon expressed that he is eager to compete against his brother Mighty Jay for the final time in the Junior Calypso Monarch.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐀𝐂, known in the calypso arena as ‘Mighty QJ’. He is 12 years of age and currently attends the Charlestown Secondary School.

Quincy began his journey in Junior Calypso during this year’s Nevis Culturama Festival. Though shy and quiet off stage, Mighty QJ comes alive when a microphone is in his hand.

He enjoys singing and dancing and has aspirations of becoming a professional singer. Quincy has promised that his performance at the show will be one to remember.
