The Road March title will be judged on JOUVERT MORNING only.

Registered bands, soca artistes and calypsonians may compete for the Road March title. Independent DJs will not be allowed to contribute points to those vying for the Road March title.

Accepted competitors will include bands, soca artistes and calypsonians attached to a specified sound system that were all registered before the stated deadline.

Road March Contenders submitted (in writing) the name of the tune(s) to be considered for Road March by 4 PM Friday, November 18th, 2022. Said tune(s) had to be publicly released in full via a radio station or the artiste’s social media channel by no later than 11 PM, Friday, November 25th 2022.

Judging will be done on one (1) circle of the Jouvert Route from 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

The Judge will be positioned at each of the judging points to record the name of the tune played by the Road March contender during the specified time – 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

This will only be done once during the allotted time. Thus, the total number of points that a Band, Calypsonian, or Soca Artiste can be awarded in this tier is THREE (3) Points of the four judging areas, which will then be converted to percentage points. This part will account for 35% of the final score.

The second component of the judging of the Road March will be based on a performance on The Bay Road on the first passing of each registered contender. A panel of three (3) Judges will be responsible for the performance on The Bay Road. Maximum time allowed will be five (5) minutes.

This segment cannot exceed five (5) minutes as a penalty of two (2) points per minute or any part thereof will be imposed. The maximum number of points to be awarded for the performance on The Bay Road is ninety (90) points which will then be converted to percentage points.

This performance will account for sixty-five (65%) percent of the final score.

A clock will display the time of each performance and time will be kept by an official timekeeper. All competing entities must remain on the truck, trailer, or vehicle. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of five (5) points from the total score.
