St Kitts and Nevis: Kamarley Newton will represent St Kitts and Nevis as he is the first male qualifier for CARIFTA 2023. 18 year old Kamarley Newton of Over the Top track club is SKN’s first male qualifier for the CARIFTA Games 2023, slated to be held in Bahamas in April.

Newton ran 10.73 at the recently concluded Twilight meet at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium on Friday 20th in the Boys 100m Dash Open. The qualifying time for the Men’s U20 100M event is 10:80. They extend heartiest congratulations to Kamarley and look forward to more qualifiers for the upcoming games.

There are few swimmers that you can describe as a once in a generation athlete and it would be hard to find anyone that disagrees that Elan Daley is of that ilk. She formerly competed for Bermuda and now swims for Canada. She competed at the CARIFTA Championships in the 11-12 age group and one year in the 13-14. 

During that age group stint she amassed over 30 medals in which most were Gold. She now will be making the senior transition to the University of Florida . Competing for the Gators she will in the environment of the legacy of Caribbean excellence all around. From the iconic Head Coach Anthony Nesty , Olympic Gold medallist as swimmer and Coach. Other history making Olympians include to name really just a few are Leah Martindale now Stancil, Janelle Atkinson of Jamaica and the Fraser brothers of the Cayman Islands Shaune and Brett.

They acknowledged what she did at the Junior Pan Pacifics this summer. They also know what she did last December at the Ontario Junior International in the 25 metre pool. In the 50 scm freestyle 25.22 11th fastest from CCCAN region. The 100 scm free fastest 15-17 ever from CCCAN and CARIFTA at 53.35, fourth all time. In the 200 scm freestyle again the region’s best junior at 1:55.66 and fifth all time.The 100 scm butterfly 59.38 eighth all time. 

For the 50 scm breaststroke , yes breaststroke best age grouper of all time 31.85 and sixth all time.
