St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival extended congratulations and greetings to Island Flavours EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra for winning Sugar Mas 51 Panorama Champions. It also announced the entire result of the event.

St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival extended congratulations and greetings to Island Flavours EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra for winning Sugar Mas 51 Panorama Champions. It also announced the entire result of the event. 

St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival cited, “MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to Island Flavours EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra, the Sugar Mas 51 Panorama Champions! Doing it back to back to back! 3PEAT.”

1st Runner-up: 239 Points

PAN IS ALIVE AND WELL IN THE FEDERATION. The audience has witnessed a musical treat from all of the steel bands. There was a huge crowd. The committed has asked the people, “Let’s continue to preserve and develop this distinctive musical form.”

The Panorama title is up for grabs, and $15,000 is at stake. Current title holders, EBJ Harmonics have faced six fierce contenders. ️

The performance order of the competition and each steel band has played as follows:

  •  NEVIS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STEEL ORCHESTRA: We’re In This Together
  •  YOUNG VIBRATIONS STEEL ORCHESTRA: Jumping Up Again
  •  Island Flavors EBJ Harmonics STEEL ORCHESTRA: Nobody Gon Run Me
  •  PAN-DEMIC STEEL ORCHESTRA: All Aboard
  •  POINCIANA RHYTHMZ STEEL ORCHESTRA: Savannah Grass
  •  OUALIE RHYTHMZ STEEL ORCHESTRA: Out And Bad

The criteria for choosing the winner were as follows: 

  • Arrangement – 40 points
  • General Performance – 40 points
  • Tone – 10 points
  • Rhythm – 10 points
  • TOTAL – 100 points

Sugar Mas 51 was started on December 2, 2022, with a number of fun activities. Earlier on the same day, the 2022 – 2023 Talented Teen contestants showed their artistic and creative side last Sunday during a Paint-And-Sip Picnic with Sasha The Artiste. They added their unique twists to a painting dubbed “Queen of the Coral Reefs”.

The young ladies representing eight educational institutions will be taking the stage on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Warner Park Cricket Stadium – 8 pm.

The visitors have experienced a fantastic time they all had at Carambola Beach Club. Minister with responsibility for National CarnivalSamal Duggins’ Cocktail Reception for Sugar Mas 51 participants and stakeholders was truly an enchanting evening of delectable treats, beautiful people and fantastic music.

“Last night, I had the pleasure, as Minister with responsibility for National Carnival, to host a cocktail in recognition of the contributions made by all Carnival stakeholders, “said the Minister. 

He thanked the members of the Cabinet who were in attendance. Their presence underscores the commitment of your federal Cabinet to supporting and developing our creatives and our creative economy.

Samal Duggins also noted that the Sugar Mas 51 they have already made history. 

For the first time ever, all three of the major telecommunications giants – Flow, Cable and Digicel have come on board as top-tier sponsors for Sugar Mas 51.

Earlier, this week at the Belle Mont Farm Resort, the National Carnival Swimwear Contestants were treated to a special evening of tea and talk with former NCSW Queen and reigning Miss. Black International Jackeima Flemming.

Under the theme, “Healing in Heels”, the contestants dissected what it means to embrace their mental and emotional well-being, how to identify and overcome emotional and psychological hurdles that may suppress success and how to counter negative thoughts with positive affirmations.

The SKNNCC wishes to thank Jackeima Flemming for taking time out of her busy schedule to spend some quality time with the contestants to facilitate the session.

The Sugar Mas 51 Swimwear Pageant will be held on TUES. DEC 27 at Carnival Village.
