St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis honoured the 29 nationals for recognizing their legacy and devotion to the country. As part of the celebration of the Independence 40, the government hosted “National Heroes Day”.

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew extended wishes to the 29 nationals and saluted their contribution for the nation building. He said that the legacy of these heroes will remind them their dedication for their country.

On the National Heroes Day, PM Terrance Drew said that they honoured their National Heroes such as Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, Sir Caleb Azariah Paul Southwell, Sir Joseph Nathaniel France, Sir Simeon Daniel, and Sir Kennedy Alphonse Simmonds, the only living National Hero.

He said that the legacy of the heroes inspired them to work for the betterment of the nation building.

Prime Minister Terrance Drew said that the failures are part of the life and serve as the opportunity to grow sustainably. He said everyone should develop maturely and build resiliency.

PM Drew added that they can transform their lives and their nation.

During the heroes day, the government of St Kitts and Nevis has also honoured the nations who have demonstrated their commitment to the building of our nation through their various passions and fields of expertise.

“On this National Heroes Day, I challenge each of us to recognize the hero within ourselves. We can all be heroes in our daily lives, not through grand gestures alone, but through simple acts of kindness, and empathy, and being our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers,”said the prime minister.
