St Kitts and Nevis: A billboard was unveiled just outside of Dr William Connor Primary School of St Kitts and Nevis celebrating Akanye Samuel-Francis for his outstanding GOLD medal performance at the CARIFTA U17 male 400m Hurdles race.
The performance of Akanye Samuel-Francis during the recently concluded 50th Carifta Games held in the Bahamas was celebrated on Friday morning(May 5, 2023) with the unveiling of a billboard along Cayon Street near the Dr William Connor Primary School.
The erection of the billboard has created exciting vibes in the whole of St Kitts and Nevis, resulting in the pouring of the wishes on Akanye Samuel-Francis. Minister of Foreign Affairs- Denzil Douglas expressed pride in his achievement and wished him the best for his future endeavours.
Denzil Douglas took to Facebook and stated, “Congratulations Akanye. A Billboard of Akanye Samuel-Francis, 400m Gold Medalist in the U17 male hurdles at the recently concluded CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas, was erected on the lawn of the Dr William Connor Primary School (former school) this Morning.”
The unveiling ceremony was attended by the area representative- Konris Maynard, who also posed with Samuel Francis. He shared some snapshots of the ceremony and stated that this was a great achievement for him.
He said,” It was my privilege to be at the lawns outside of Dr William Connor Primary for the unveiling of this congratulatory billboard for Akanye Samuel-Francis for his outstanding GOLD medal performance at the CARIFTA U17 male 400m Hurdles race. The WHOLE of St. Kitts-Nevis is proud of you, Akanye. You proved that we are small, but we TALLAWAH.”
Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Geoffrey Hanley, also extended greetings and noted, “CONGRATULATIONS AKANYE.”
St Kitts and Nevis Athletics Association also joined the country to express pleasure and stated that a billboard had been erected on the island’s main road infront of the Dr William Connor Primary School in celebration of Akanye Samuel-Francis, our UNSTOPPABLESKN Gold Medalist at the recently concluded 50th CARIFTA Games.
Rams Village Football Club also appreciated Samuel-Francis and stated that the youth footballer and Carifta gold medalist Akanye Samuel-Francis continues to receive his accolades. “St Kitts and Nevis are proud of you; the Village community is even prouder. The sky is the limit, and your ambition is so inspiring; congratulations on your well-deserved success. Continue to follow your dreams.”
Recently, St Kitts and Nevis Athletics Association also erected the new billboard on the island main road before turning off to the Saddlers Secondary School in celebration of DeCheynelle Thomas, bronze medalist at the recently concluded 50th CARIFTA Games.
