St Kitts and Nevis, Cuba sign cooperation agreement to deepen health relations

As per the reports, Ambassador of Cuba David Rivero Pérez and the local Permanent Secretary of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Delores Stapleton-Harris, have signed a new health cooperation agreement on behalf of the Ministers of Health of Cuba and St Kitts and Nevis.

St Kitts and Nevis: The government of St Kitts and Nevis and Cuba have updated their diplomatic relations as they have signed a new health cooperation agreement on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. 

As per the reports, Ambassador of Cuba David Rivero Pérez and the local Permanent Secretary of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Delores Stapleton-Harris, have signed a new health cooperation agreement on behalf of the Ministers of Health of Cuba and St Kitts and Nevis. 

According to the agreement, the Cuban medical will continue the collaboration in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. 

The Fedeartion and Cuba have a long tern of relation as they continue to invest in each other’s health sector. In 1996, both the countries maintained a close bond in the health sector with the various agreement of cooperation. 

Now, they have signed a new agreement to update their health sector relations. The new agreement corresponds to the current characteristics of the international collaboration that Cuba offers. The agreement that has been signed between the country has allowed the gradual increase of cooperators in both St Kitts and Nevis. 

Currently, various professionals from Cuba are working in the Health Sector of the Federation.  Further, a total of twelve professionals of the Cuban medical brigade are working in the health sector in the Federation. 

The twelve professionals under the Cuban Medical brigade have different specialists in the medical sector and work consistently in the Federation. 

The twelve professionals from different specialists have worked at the General Hospital of Capital of the country called Basseterre, Joseph N France and the Alexandra Hospital in Nevis.

The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has also shared great and mutual partnerships with the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba. Ambassador Vance Amory of St Kitts and Nevis, on behalf of Prime Minister Timothy Harris, has declared the bilateral ties between the two countries at the seventh CARICOM-Cuba Summit held via video conference on December 08, 2020.
