GREAT NEWS! BIG congratulations to Jackiema Flemming, the 2017 St. Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Swimsuit Queen and 2021 Miss University of the Virgin Islands! This past weekend, she was crowned QUEEN in the 2022 Miss Black International Ambassador Pageant in Atlanta, Georgia.

ABOUT THE PAGEANT

The Miss Black International Ambassador (Teen, Miss, Ms & Mrs) exists to give a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for black women globally to serve as ambassadors of change and to encourage, empower and enlighten, communities, states, and nations in St Kitts and Nevis.

These global agents are rising voices in the community seeking to make a difference, by providing educational forums and events that focus on health disparities, poverty, violence, and major issues plaguing the black communities. They are role models not only to young African American women but to women around the world. They partner with key political figures and international initiatives to bring support to their efforts and platforms.

These women are more than a pretty face and the program is more than a competition. It’s a program that gives 365 days of support and resources to communities in need. The program is a platform for today’s savvy, smart and aware, black women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to the international public while offering scholarships and grant opportunities to further their education or their business in St Kitts and Nevis.

Festivals are a microcosm of what they represent. They give fascinating insight into the rich cultural traditions, enticing customs and delightful local flavors that make up the fabric of a country’s uniqueness. Festivals help them to preserve our history and they all have a common theme which is rooted in togetherness, celebration and cheer.

Showcasing creative depictions of festivals from all corners of the globe, ULTRA Nation will transform the streets of Basseterre into a dazzling spectacle of cultural diversity on January 2nd and 3rd, 2023.Â
