The movie "Christmas in the Caribbean", which was filmed exclusively at the picturesque Kittitian Hill Resort here on St Kitts, premiered at the Caribbean Cinemas in Basseterre on December 11, 2022.

St Kitts and Nevis: The movie “Christmas in the Caribbean“, which was filmed exclusively at the picturesque Kittitian Hill Resort here on St Kitts, premiered at the Caribbean Cinemas in Basseterre on December 11, 2022.

The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis is fast becoming a top film-making destination in the Caribbean with the efforts made by Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley and MSR media and its team.

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and other members of Cabinet joined the cast and crew of the MSR Media and other specially invited guests at the premiere of the movie.

Christmas in the Caribbean is a romantic comedy and became the eighth feature film shot in Nevis. The movie is starred by Elizabeth Hurley, Caroline Quentin, Nathalie Cox and Edoardo Costa. The writers of the Film are Nathalie Cox and Philippe Martinez, and the director is Philippe Martinez of MSR Media St Kitts and Nevis.

The storyline of the Film features a heroine named Rachel who has romantic wedding dreams. The hopeless dreams get shattered when she catches her groom high-tailing it out of the church minutes before they say, “I do.”

After facing such a hopeless marriage at the altar, Rachel and her two best friends take her scheduled Caribbean Christmas honeymoon, where she unexpectedly finds true love under the sun.

St Kitts and Nevis have emerged as the destination for the making of the top Film in the Caribbean due to MSR Media and its Chief Producer Philippe Martinez and Lee Beasley, Managing Director.

The MSR Media has been eyeing the two Caribbean islands because of their charming and magnificent beauty and found St Kitts and Nevis and made it their home.

MSR Media came to the Federation 18 months ago and has produced several films in the country. The films are included One Year Off, Assailant, A Week in Paradise, Christmas in the Caribbean, Christmas in Paradise, and Us or Them.

The premiere of Christmas in the Caribbean will cater to 320 persons. The cast and crew of MSR Media will be in attendance.

ELIZABETH HURLEY delighted the country once more in this interview with “Gino at the Movies” to promote MSR MEDIA INTERNATIONAL’s new release, CHRISTMAS IN PARADISE.

Philippe Martinez’s Christmas Comedy starring Kelsey Grammer, Elizabeth Hurley, and Billy Ray Cyrus is out now on AppleTV, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and Redbox.

At the end of 2020 during the height of the Covid19 pandemic, the Nevis Island Administration negotiated with film makers MSR Media to come to Nevis and to help them start a movie industry here. This was new and innovative thinking as we sought to diversify the Nevis economy. The naysayers laughed and said it could not be done. But the true patriots who believe in Nevis and it’s potential rolled up their sleeves and went to work.

These are local youngsters being given an opportunity to learn new skills and help build a new industry right here on Nevis. They are not the only locals being exposed, being employed, learning new skills, being part of an exciting new film industry.

St. Kitts is an island of infinite history and beauty. One unmissable spot is Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each stone tells a story of the skill, strength and endurance of the people who built and maintained it.
