St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee announced the routes of another Grand Carnival Parade, which will hit the street on January 3, 2023.
ROUTE is as follows:
From Patsy Allers (optional), Cayon Street, Pond Road, right or left on Sandown road (depending on direction of Mas Camp), right on Bay Road up Fort Street, right on Cayon Street, right on West Independence Square Street. Bands will continue looping Fort Street, Cayon Street, West Independence Square Street.
Without a doubt Sugar Mas is the best small island carnival there is! Special shout out to all revelers, sponsors, onlookers, service providers…EVERYBODY for an excellent showcase of folklore and fantasy during our Grand Parade.
And just like that… the festivities end today with Las Lap right after the announcement of the results for this year’s Street Activities, LIVE on ZIZ at 1 pm in St Kitts and Nevis.
Then we will hit the street one more time. Each mas band will start from their respective mas camp. No music is to be played until each band is on the route in St Kitts and Nevis.
During the 1st loop that passes the Basseterre Police Station, there shall be no music played on Cayon Street between Hart Street and the restaurant next to Quick Bargain.
All bands are to end at 9 pm (11 pm with good behavior) and all Las Lap activities end at midnight. The National Carnival, also known as Sugar Mas, takes place over the period between Christmas and the New Year. As New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday, today is a holiday for the Grand Parade Last Lap in St Kitts and Nevis.
No Parade in 2021, No parade in 2022. Words cannot express how happy we are that the Grand Parade IS BACK and with increased participation too. Folks, it will be a spectacle to behold! The magic begins at 11 am and ends at 7 pm in St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister with the responsibility of National Carnival- Samal Duggins asserted, “Sugar Mas 51 – we have already made history.”
For the first time, all three of our major telecommunications giants – Flow, Cable and Digicel have come on board as top tier sponsors for Sugar Mas 51 in St Kitts and Nevis.
“I am truly inspired by this overwhelming show of support to our carnival product and our people. At a time when competitive advantage in business is critical these three saw it fit to come together and invest in our country’s talent and creativity, “said the minister.
