St Kitts and Nevis all set to celebrate 39th Independence Day, launches calendar of events

St Kitts and Nevis: In order to celebrate its independence from the rule of the British Empire, St Kitts and Nevis is all set to mark its 39th anniversary on September 19, 202. The celebrations will be taken place with a number of activities that showcased the vibrant, traditional, and authentic culture of the twin-island Federation.

In order to dedicate Independence Day to the freedom fighters, the celebrations will be held under the theme- “Refocus, Recreate, Redesign Independence 39.” The government of St Kitts and Nevis also launched the calendar of events featuring the number of activities that will be performed in the country. Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley took to social media and share the calendar of events.

The events will be started on Friday, September 9, 2022, and finished on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

On September 9, 2022:

The celebration will witness the first event named the Start of National Colours Week on Friday, September 9, 2022. The event will last through the week and each day will be dedicated to a specific colour. September 9, will be devoted to the colour in St Kitts and Nevis.

Further, the Cabinet Ministers also scheduled to visit primary schools of East and West Zone in St Kitts. On the other hand, Nevis will witness sneaker day.

On September 10, 2022:

September 10, 2022, will mark the event called Independence Wellness Challenge Walk in St Kitts, while Nevis will celebrate the event with Independence Wellness Walk. The day will also witness the opening of the East Basseterre Festival.

On September 12, 2022:

The day will again mark National Colours Day throughout St Kitts and Nevis and September 12, 2022, will be devoted to the yellow colours.

On September 13, 2022:

St Kitts and Nevis will again witness National Colours Day and celebrate the black colour with its unique style. Further, the Cabinet ministers will also continue their visit to the primary school of St Kitts. This time, they will go to Basseterre Zone.

On September 14, 2022:

St Kitts and Nevis will devote the day to white colour with the National colours Day event. Further, St Kitts Cabinet ministers will again pay an official visit to the secondary schools. There will also be Lecture Series by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew.

On September 15, 2022:

The day will be devoted to the red colour and St Kitts and Nevis will celebrate Independence Day with National Colours Day. St Kitts will further witness the sneaker day and host the Patriotic programmes of Schools.

On September 16, 2022:

St Kitts and Nevis will observe National Heroes’ Day. The audience will witness the Day at 8 pm at National Heroes Park, Basseterre and 4 pm at R.L Bradshaw Memorial Park, St Pauls in St Kitts. St Kitts and Nevis further witness the announcement of National Honours at Belle Pastel by Study.

Further, Nevis will also host National Hero’s Day Concert.

On September 17, 2022:

There will be International Block Parties in St Kitts with Boozie Bunch by Carambole. On the other hand, Nevis will witness the start of the SKN Moves, Nevis Knock Out for Public Sectors vs Private Sector.

On September 18, 2022:

The name of the event for the day is Independence State Service at Antioch Baptist Church around 4 pm, Tropiex by Cane Juice, and High Tide Independence boat ride by Vibes Beach Bar.

On September 19, 2022:

Independence Day will feature the Independence Parade on the day. There will also be a governor general’s Independence Cocktail, Mother’s Union Independence Breakfast and East Basseterre Festival Parade of Tropes in St Kitts. On the other hand, Nevis will celebrate the day with the event named Independence Parade and several awards ceremonies.

On September 23, 2022:

The event’s name is Ms Phenomenal Pageant and will be hosted in St Kitts.

On September 24, 2022:

Nevis will celebrate Independence Day with the event called Fitness in the Tropics (Yoga)

On September 25, 2022:

St Kitts will witness the event on the day which is named as Cultural Fair featuring Local Designers by Movado Modelling agency.

On September 30, 2022:

St Kitts will host Independence Freedom Concert and fireworks display with national colours to mark Independence celebrations.

On October 4, 2022:

Nevis will host the Final Day of SKN Moves, Knock Out Competition and it will be Public Sector vs Private Sector.

On October 7, 2022:

St Kitts will witness the celebration on the day and the name of the event is Elocution Contest in Schools.

On October 22, 2022:

There will be drill competition- A night of Dance event held in St Kitts to mark Independence Day.

On October 30, 2022:

On the day, there will be the launch of Independence 40 pre-activities.
