Son of Dara Singh, Amrik Singh Randhawa to join farmers’ parade on Jan 26

Amrik Singh Randhawa, son of Rajya Sabha MP and legendary wrestler-actor Dara Singh, would be among the front-line protestors in the tractor rally.

India: Amrik Singh Randhawa, son of Rajya Sabha MP and legendary wrestler-actor Dara Singh, would be among the front-line protestors in the tractor rally. Randhawa urges people to join the tractor rally scheduled by protesting farmers on Republic day (26 January 2021).

In his appeal, he said, “We have worked hard to achieve an incident-free agitation so far; I appeal to everyone to keep it this way and maintain disciple.”

He added, “We have worked too hard to throw it all away with a few unsavoury incidents, so please follow all the directions of the jathebandis (Unions) and have a peaceful rally. Happy Independence Day to everyone.”

Amrik Randhawa went on to join films, making a name for himself in films both as actor and producer.

Apart from wrestling, Dara Singh also earned a mark in television, particularly in his role as Lord Hanuman in “Ramayana.”

In a protest against three farm laws introduced by BJP led government, farmers have planned a tractor rally parallel to Republic Day parade in the national capital New Delhi. According to experts, the rally of tractors will be historical as farmers all across India are gathering at the border areas of Delhi, primarily at Singhu Border.

Indian farmers had already shown an exemplary model for peaceful protest in front of the world. To manage the tractor protest, more than 10k volunteers would be present at all rally transactions.

The three routes that have been scheduled by more than 65km each and some experts say that the tractor parade can extend this march more than three days (about 72 hours).

Several celebrities, including famous singers Jazzy B, Diljit Dosanjh, Gurdas Mann, Ranjit Bawa, Deep Sidhu, Jass Bajwa and actors like Sonia Mann have contributed to the protest by time, providing support in matters of shelter and food.
