SKN COVID Update: 5 new cases reported, 60.4% fully vaccinated

The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis have reported five new COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 to 611, as of 6 August 2021.

Saint Kitts and Nevis: The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis have reported five new COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 to 611, as of 6 August 2021.

Till 6 August 2021, the sister island has 50 active cases of the novel coronavirus. Out of the confirmed cases, in total, 558 patients have been recovered from the deadly mutant.

Out of 611 confirmed cases, a total of 589 COVID-19 cases are on the St Kitts island, while 22 confirmed COVID-19 cases are on the Nevis island.

So far, a total of three deaths have been reported on the sister island due to the deadly COVID-19 mutant; out of the total COVID-19 tests conducted so far, a total of 26,098 individuals tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis has vaccinated 60.4 per cent(19,848 individuals) of the population against the COVID-19 deadly mutant, as per the report of the Health Ministry of the island, till 6 August 2021.

The data in the report of the Health Ministry states that a total of 72.4 per cent of St Kitts and Nevis population has received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 6 August 2021.

In total, 43,866 doses of the novel coronavirus vaccines have been administered on the sister islands, out of which a total of 33,747 doses were administered on St Kitts. In comparison, around 10,119 COVID-19 doses have been administered on Nevis island.

The SKN government has asked its citizens to follow the COVID-19 health protocols and measures such as – wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, maintaining social distance.

Additionally, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Timothy Harris, is also encouraging the citizens to take jabs of their COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible in order to fight and defeat the deadly mutant.
