New Delhi, India: Protests against the new farmer’s law have gone to another level, priest of a Gurdwara of Haryana, Baba Ram Singh, who met the farmers’ protest, has expired by suicide; he had shot himself.

The 65-year-old priest was at the Delhi-Sonipat border at Kundli, where he reached on Tuesday evening.

The area is 2 km of the Singhu border, the epicentre about farmers’ protest, which is now on its 21st day. In a note, he told that he was sacrificing his life “to show anger and pain against the government’s injustice”.

The farmer who died also left a letter before he died, he noted “I feel the pain of farmers fighting to secure their rights. I share their anxiety because the government is not giving justice to them. To deliver injustice is a sin, but it is also a sin to tolerate injustice. To encourage farmers, some have returned their awards to the government. I have decided to sacrifice myself.”

“This servant commits self-immolation opposite to the government oppression [and] in favour of the farmers. It(New laws) is the voice against the oppression also the voice in favour of the farmers,” the suicide note, written in Punjabi said.

Many farmers in the agitation said that we are in the deep anger against the Narendra Modi Govt, the government is treating behaving so wrong with the protesting farmers.

To raise the protest at a new level, one farmer named Satpal Singh said that ” we will raise our protest at another level on 26th January at the parade place, if the government does not listen to our problem .”

Another member from the agitating against the bill Satinder Singh said that ” If Govt would not listen to our demands then on 26th Januaary we will surround Borris Jhonsan too who is the chief guest this year for republic day parade”.

Till now talk between the farmers and the Indian government has been done for more than six-round, but still, it is inconclusive.

On the death of the priest, many opposition parties leader raise the voices, including the Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal.
