Shyne receives second dose of COVID vaccine

Member of House of Representatives of Belize, Shyne Barrow, has received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Belize: Member of House of Representatives of Belize, Shyne Barrow, has received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

He shared the information via his social media handle and thanked the frontline health care workers, and he further encouraged the citizens and everyone to take their dose of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to defeat this pandemic.

Barrow further asserted, “The more people that get vaccinated, the safer the country would be so we can lift the curfew and other restrictions! It’s time to reopen the economy.”

According to the vaccination statistics, as of 25 May 2021, a total of 61,282 individuals have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is 15.7 per cent of the total population.

As of 25 May 2021, a total of 10,634 people have received their second dose and are now fully vaccinated, which is 2.7 per cent of the total population of Belize.

On 26 May 2021, the island recorded seven new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases to 12,791 in Belize. The island saw the recovery of five individuals on 26 May 2021, bringing the total number of recoveries to 12,376.

As of now, the island had reported a total of 323 deaths due to the deadly coronavirus mutant.

If we look at the statistics, then worldwide, there are a total of 16.8 crore COVID-19 cases, and around 35 lakh individuals died because of the deadly COVID-19 virus globally.

According to the vaccination statistics, as of 25 May 2021, a total of 788,312,570 individuals have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is around 10.1 per cent of the world’s population.

Globally, a total of 403,451,486 people have received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now fully vaccinated, which is around 5.2 per cent of the world’s population.
