Castries, Saint Lucia: The Under 19 footballers of Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School (SCSS) played the Saint Lucia Sports Academy in the final match of the tournament. Both teams brought the best effort to the battle.

The match ended in a 1-1 score at the end of regular time perfectly set up for a penalty shoot-out. The SCSS family has the highest regard for both our football teams for making it to the finals in both tournaments. Of even greater signifance is the manner in which the players executed their craft so well and thoroughly challenging academy players who train daily and comprise some of the best sporting talent in the country.

We salute in one accord as well Stephen Charles and Gilroy Lamontagne for their dedication and skill in preparing these boys for competition.

The boys in yellow and maroon won silver but in the eyes of the SCSS family they are gold medalists who will be back to prove their prowess.

The SLSA Track & Field team represented the school at the just concluded Inter Schools Road Race held in Vieux Fort. Our athletes were very impressive in their performances; netting a total of 7 medals- 4 golds 3 bronze along with three trophies: U15 boys 2nd place , U20 boys 3rd place and U20 girls 2nd place.

On the 7th of December the finals for the U15 competition took place between the Saint Lucia Sports Academy and Saint Mary’s College. The competitive and exciting finals ended regulation with a 2-2 draw and needed penalties to decide a winner. SMC came out victorious after converting all their penalties winning 5-3 making the Sports Academy runners up for the 2022 U15 Secondary school football competition.

Congratulations to the boys of SMC on their victory and a big Congratulations to the boys of Saint Lucia Sports Academy for bringing home 1st and 2nd place titles from the two finals this year.
