Commonwealth of Dominica welcomes Scott Furssedonn-Wood as the British High Commissioner to the nation. On Tuesday, the British High Commissioner presented his credentials to President of Dominica, HE Charles Savarin and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

In a tweet, the UK in the Caribbean wrote, “The presentation marked his accreditation as British High Commissioner to the nature isle; highlighting opportunities for deeper cooperation between our countries.”

While thanking the President and the Prime Minister of Dominica, High Commissioner Scott Furssedonn-Wood wrote in his tweet that he expressed his gratitude and he felt happy on being appointed the new British High Commissioner to Dominica.

In his tweet, he wrote, “I am proud to be British High Commissioner to Dominica. Thank you, President Savarin and PM Skerrit, for your warm welcome and commitment to the strong and enduring partnership. I am look forward to work closely with you.”

Before getting his new appointment as British High Commissioner to Dominica, he is also serving in Barbados & Eastern Caribbean. In April 2021, he was appointed to this post.

He is also a non-resident High Commissioner to the other Caribbean nations. These nations include St Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda.

Wood, for 5 years, was based in the United States between 2008 and 2013, there he was appointed as the Head of Strategic Threats, and at the British Embassy in Washington DC, he served as Head of the Political Section.

Before Washington, Wood was at the Foreign Office in London, serving as the Private Secretary to the Minister of State for – the Middle East & South Asia. During that time, he visited more than 50 nations, including India and its neighbours.

Wood is having MA (Hons) in Philosophy, Economics and Politics from Merton College, Oxford University, and he also did MBA from Open University.
