Saint Lucia: Youth Officer Chrishna St. Brice to attend 2023 Young Leaders of Americas Cohort

Youth Officer for the Western Cluster attached to the Department of Youth in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia Chrishna St. Brice is one of two young Saint Lucian women currently attending the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship in the USA.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Youth Officer for the Western Cluster attached to the Department of Youth in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia Chrishna St. Brice is one of two young Saint Lucian women currently attending the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship in the USA.

The other Saint Lucian is Sharine Joseph, Joseph who works in the Business Services sector, leading Blu Media Marketing as a social media marketer and consultant. From a field of over 1,800 applicants, close to 280 young leaders have been accepted to the program from 37 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada are attending the YLAI.

In the coming days, fellows will split into cohorts and travel to 19 cities across the United States for four weeks of professional placements with U.S. businesses.

The two Saint Lucians will remain in Houston for the remainder of this week, but come next week, St. Brice will be based in Michigan and Joseph in Boston. The 2023 YLAI Fellowship Program is sponsored by the

Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and launched in December with a virtual Fellowship Leadership Curriculum and orientation. The program concludes with a Closing Forum in Washington, D.C. in June.

Earlier, Mon Repos Stars and Vieux Fort started things off in the 2023 Saint Lucia T10 Blast which bowls off on Wednesday May 10th at the picturesque Daren Sammy Cricket Ground from 12.00 noon.

Eight teams will take part in the third edition of the tournament, namely, Central Castries Mindoo Phillip Heritage, Choiseul Coal Pots, Babonneau Leatherbacks, Micoud Eagles, Mon Repos Stars, Soufriere Sulphur City

Stars, South Castries Lions, and Vieux Fort North Raiders, Matches held this week.

Thursday, May 11th, Choiseul Coal Pots vs South Castries Lions, at 12.00 p.m. and Soufriere Sulphur City Stars vs Micoud Eagles, 2.30 p.m. Friday, May 12th, Babonneau Leatherbacks vs Central Castries Mindoo Heritage, 12.00 p.m. and South Castries Lions vs Mon Repos Stars, 2.30 p.m.
