Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia secured a three-wicket victory over Dominica in the match of the opening day of the 2023 Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB), Winlott Inc on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. 

Captain Tarrique Edward helped Saint Lucia earn a hard-fought three-wicket victory over Dominica on the opening day (Sunday, April 16) at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

Final Scores:

  • Dominica Under-19s 155 all out in 43.5 overs.
  • Saint Lucia Under-19s 156 for 7 in 42 overs.

In the other match on the day, Saint Vincent & The Grenadines got the better of Grenada by two wickets in a thrilling encounter at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

Final Scores:

  • Grenada Under-19s 246 all out in 49.4 overs
  • Saint Vincent & The Grenadines 249 for 8 in 48 overs

Matches continue today (Monday April 17) in the 2023 Winlott Inc Windward Islands Under 19 -50 Overs Cricket Tournament with two matches. From 9.30 a.m. at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Saint Lucia will come up against Grenada, while Saint Vincent & The Grenadines and Dominica will square off at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The 2023 Windward Islands Cricket Board (WICB), Winlott Inc sponsored Under 19 cricket tournament bowls off on Sunday, April 16 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground and the Gros Islet playing field of Saint Lucia respectively.

Matches will commence from 9.30 a.m. daily. Dominica will open their campaign on, Day One when they play defending champions Saint Lucia at the picturesque Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

Saint Lucia, the defending champions, will be led by Tarrique Edward, the remainder of the squad – Jonathan Daniel, Leon Alexander, Kevin Gassie, Bolton Sayers, Theo Edward, Royce Paul, Amari Venner, Shawnil Edward, Khan Elcock, Aaron Joseph, Sky Lafeuile, and Noel Leo. The Technical staff, Coach – Garey Mathurin, and Manager / Physiotherapist – Donald Albert.

At the Gros Islet playing field, Grenada played Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Meanwhile, matches continue Monday 17th, Saint Lucia will play Grenada at the DSCG, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines versus Dominica.

Tuesday 18th is a Rest Day, the showpiece resumes on Wednesday 19th dubbed the Battle of the Saints, host Saint Lucia plays Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the DSCG and Grenada versus Dominica at the Gros Islet playing field.

The four teams will get another day off from all the action (Thursday20th). The tournament resumes on Friday 21st with the third-place silverware at the Gros Islet playing field, while the Championship match WICB Under 19 Cricket Bowls Today.
