Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia welcomed two inaugural cruise calls at Port Castries on Tuesday, December 27th 2022, which are Zaandam of the Holland America Line and Coasta Fascinosa. Both vessels received a warm welcome, participating in the plaque exchange ceremonies. 

The vessels brought over 3000 guests to Saint Lucia. Zaandam is one of the vessels from the Holland America Legacy Cruise Line. On Tuesday, December 27th, Zaandam made its inaugural call to Port Castries, captained by Michael (Mikhel) Williams, 600 crew and 1400 guests.

The ship’s theme is “Music”, evidenced by the many autographed memorabilia and collectable items aboard.

Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism Saint Lucia, Invest Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia Air & Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and Cox and Company were on hand to welcome passengers and crew on its maiden voyage to the island.

MSC Seaside berthed at Pointe Seraphine, the Caribbean country, on Monday, December 26th, 2022, with a total of 4250 passengers and 1414 crew.

MSC Seaside is owned and operated by MSC Cruises and is the lead vessel of the Seaside class with a capacity of 5200 guests.

The vessel’s maiden voyage to Saint Lucia was on December 12th, 2022; however on its second visit on December 26th representatives from the Ministry Of Tourism, Saint Lucia Air & Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), and Tourism Authority of the country welcomed the Captain, passengers and crew back to the country

Cruise ship passengers got a taste of Christmas with style of the country on Christmas Eve as members of Woulé Tété Solo Group entertained princess cruises passengers with their infectious rhythms and catchy traditional singing.

The songs may have been sung in Kwéyòl but being the universal language that it is, music translated into delight and guests did not hesitate to show their gratitude in abundance.

Castries is the capital of the island nation of the Caribbean country, in the Caribbean Sea. It’s known for palm-lined Vigie Beach and as a port of call for cruise lines, with duty-free shopping near the harbor. The lively and colorful Castries Market is also nearby. In the south, Morne Fortune hill offers views of the city.
