Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia welcomed the inaugural call of Rhapsody of the Seas’ to the shores of the destination. The cruise ship was docked at Port Castries

Ernest Hilaire expressed pleasure in the commencement of the cruise season 2022/23 and stated, “Yesterday I had the pleasure of welcoming Rhapsody of the Seas to Saint Lucia for the first time.”

He stated that it is always a pleasure to have these inaugural calls as they show the courage the cruise lines put in Saint Lucia as a destination.

‘Rhapsody of the Seas’ made its inaugural port call on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Port Castries. The team, alongside various Saint Lucian delegates, was delighted to welcome the captain, crew, and passengers at the signature plaque exchange ceremony.

Saint Lucia remains an attractive cruise destination, and industry partners are committed to welcoming more ships to our ports as our cruise industry continues to rebound.

St. Lucia, the only independent nation in the world named after a woman, embodies freedom, independence, and adventure. Regarding Caribbean islands, Saint Lucia is in a class of its own. Each island’s mountain, forest, beach, and its most recognizable monument, the Pitons (two volcanic plugs on the southwestern shore), tells a tale about the island’s past.

Saint Lucia has won the title of ‘World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination’ at the 28th annual World Travel Awards for the fourteenth time and the fifth consecutive year since 2018.
