Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia welcomed the first-ever Uber Soca Cruise aboard the Norwegian Epic to Port Castries on April 12, 2023. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Donalyn Vittet presented CEO Nathaniel Turner and Co-founder Jodi Lewis with a hand-carved plaque by Eudovic’s Art Studio, that depicts intimate attributes of Saint Lucia.

3500 revelers departed Point Seraphine and took to the John Compton Highway to the sweet sounds of Soca music, played by some of the island’s top deejays along the carnival route.

Guests experienced the creativity of our Saint Lucian people when the “Taste of Saint Lucia Village” came alive with a jam session that included performances by Saint Lucia’s very own, Ezra, Ricky-T, Dhirv, Surbance, Cooyah, and DYP.

Guests also sampled well-known delicacies, including pigtail bouillon, green fig and saltfish, fish broth, veggie soup, creole bread, and coconut cake. The cruise, with a capacity of over 3000 passengers, departed San Juan on April 9 and will make stops in St. Maarten, Saint Lucia, at St. Thomas.

The John Compton Highway was the backdrop for a vibrant parade of bands that will get to sample the local soca artists who will welcome the cruise to their breathtaking destination. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to sample Saint Lucia’s delicious cuisine and vibrant local art, making this a unique and memorable experience.
