Saint Lucia: Tourism Ministry announces activities for Creole Day in Castries

Castries, Saint Lucia: Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia announced the activities for Creole Day in Castries on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

• 𝑱’𝒐𝒖𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒆: Assemble at John Compton Highway at Jn Baptiste Street near Massy Supermarket, moving south along John Compton – left on Jeremie Street, right on Chesil Street, then right on Micoud Street then right on Laborie to end at Constitution Park.

Bonn Fèt Jounen Kwéyòl Tout Moun

Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Ernest Hilaire stated that Jounen Kweyol celebrations traditionally start on the Friday before as offices all over Saint Lucia host Kweyol Breakfasts and lunches with suitable beverages to add. 

The Ministry of Tourism is no different. Added today will be a live folk band from 1pm! Kilti Sé Djéwizon, Culture Heals. Enjoy and celebrate our heritage. He was off to CIP office, then Invest Saint Lucia then PM Residence. Gosh, he forgot Saint Lucia Tourism Authority! Duty calls.

The Cultural Development Foundation welcomes avenues to develop, promote and preserve cultural heritage. They were pleased to have collaborated with the Tourism Authority (SLTA) through Right Angle Imaging on a promotional campaign entitled “Our 758”, leveraging the Youth Summer Arts Platform to promote authentic Saint Lucian Culture.

Konsit Konmin is one of the main Kwéyòl language related events conceptualised by the FRC. It adopts a grassroots, community-centred approach to documentation and research, and forms part of a revitalized effort to understand the evolution of culture within Saint Lucian communities.
