Castries, Saint Lucia: The final three preliminary round matches were played in the Saint Lucia Football Association Inc President’s Cup on Tuesday, 9th May 2023. Over at the Dennery Playing Field, Nyabinghi with a Troy Fanis’ goal in the 9th min edged out Aux Lyon United 1 – 0 to advance to the semi finals, topping Group A.
In the other game played, Big Players were runaway winners over Agardianz with a convincing 8 – 0 victory. They got their goals from Lincoln Phillip, a hat trick in the 24th, 74th 75th min, Christopher St. Clair a brace in the 16th and 48th min and the others from Darran Joseph 36th, Valdez Maximin 38th and Levi Mederick 77th min. They, too advance to the semi finals.
Down at the Desruisseaux Playing Field, in the lone encounter DCYO registered an emphatic 5 – 1 victory over Desruisseaux United to advance to the semi finals. They got their goals from Denilson Jones with a hat trick in the 11th, 38th min and 5th min of added on time, Shaquille William 89th min. and Elijah Joseph in the 7th min of added on time.
Eldrick Popo scored for Desruisseaux United in the 23rd min. Meanwhile, Faith United won by default over Uprising to top Group B and advance to the semi final.
Saint Lucia Football Association is committed to enhancing the sporting skills of the young generations. Earlier, two matches were also played in the Saint Lucia Football Association president’s cup on Saturday 6th May at the Dennery Playing Field.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Saint Lucia Football Association hosted two matches in the President’s Cup 2023. The two teams were Dennery PF Aux Lyons United vs Nyah and the match was held at 6 pm. The second match was held between Agardianz and Big Players at 8 pm.
These matches were held under the President’s Cup.
