Castries, Saint Lucia: The Nobel Laureate Festival Committee (NLFC) will host the official launch of the 30th anniversary of activities honouring Saint Lucia’s two Nobel Laureates: Sir William Arthur Lewis (1915-1991), awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1979; and Sir Derek Alton Walcott (1930-2017), awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1992.
This year’s theme, Celebrating Excellence: Nurturing Our Creativity, Consolidating Our Legacy, embraces the many social changes during the year and recognizes positive developments.
The Nobel Laureate Festival Committee will hold the media launch at the studios of the National Television Network at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. The launch will be attended by Dame Pearlette Louisy, Governor General Emerita of Saint Lucia and Chair of the Nobel Laureate Festival Committee. At the launch, sponsors will give brief remarks, and the NLF Committee members will briefly outline planned events.
The Nobel Laureate Festival will be observed from Jan. 8 to 29, 2023.
