Castries, Saint Lucia: Kaizen Shotokan Karate School, in collaboration with Ikikata Karate School, will be hosting its first-ever KxI23 Invitational Karate Tournament on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility of Saint Lucia.

The tournament will be held on June 11, 2023 at Beausejour Indoor Facility. The event will be started at 10: 00 am. The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia invited the teams to register for the tournament. The registration fee for the tournament is $20.

Along with that, the audience can also witness the exciting matches between the Karate players of Saint Lucia. The fee for General Admission is $110.

This event will officially mark the return of karate competition at the national level and the first karate tournament since June 2019. The event is targeted particularly to young people within the age bracket of 8-25 years and seeks to put on display the talents of young Saint Lucians and invited clubs from neighboring Martinique.

Some key benefits of karate for young people are but are not limited to improved concentration and memory, self-defense, discipline, a healthy lifestyle, and increased confidence. This too can broaden the participation of young people in sports across the country and propel them to more significant opportunities in the field of martial arts.

This event will also entail a development session for athletes and referees led by French Karate Federation (FFK) certified instructors and referees that will be held on Saturday June 10.

This is part of the club’s vision of building Saint Lucia Karatekas and officials to be better prepared for future regional and international competitions.
