Saint Lucia to host finals of 50 over U19 cricket Tournament on April 4, know deets

Saint Lucia is all set to host the grand finals of the 2023 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools 50 over under 19 cricket tournament on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia is all set to host the grand finals of the 2023 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools 50 over under 19 cricket tournament on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

The Grand Finals of the 2023 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Schools Under 19, 50 Over Cricket Tournament will take place on Tuesday, April 4 from 10:00 am at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

Contesting the Grand Finals will be Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary and the Saint Lucia Sports Academy. Leon Hess Comprehensive, coached by Mr Martinus Ibed Francis, will depend heavily on captain Khan Elcock, Jewel Simon, Tori Hippolyte, Isaiah Jones and Darvin Forde.

The Leon Hess Comprehensive will be without leg spinner/ batsman Leon Alexander and all-rounder Aaron St Clair who are both currently in Antigua representing the Windward Islands in the West Indies Rising Stars Regional Under 15 Cricket Tournament.

The St Lucia Sports Academy, coached by Keith Charley/ Bryan Calixte will depend heavily on Kensley Paul, Jordan Emmanuel, Sheldon Willie, Ashton Alexander and Zanaki Louis.

The Saint Lucia Sports Academy will certainly miss their captain and Ace batsman Theo Edward who is currently in Antigua representing the Windward Islands in the West Indies Rising Stars Regional Under 15 Cricket Tournament.

Cian Felix, Zaida James, Namiah Marcellin, Destiny Edward, Selena Ross, Niesha Cherry, Nesha Alexander, Nathalia Phillip all left Saint Lucia today on their way to Trinidad to join the Windward Islands U19 team.

Saint Lucians Theo Edward, Johnathan Daniel, Leon Alexander, Jaheem Simeon, Cody Fontinelle, Aaron St Clair and Tyler Venner along with coach John Eugene left island today to participate in the West Indies Under 15 tournament being held in Antigua. The team will participate in some practice matches against the Leeward Islands before the start of the tournament.

The SLNCA wishes the team the best of luck at this tournament.
