Castries, Saint Lucia: THEO EDWARD secured the victory against LEON ALEXANDER in another match of the 2023 Gros Islet Domestic U19 Cricket Tournament on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Saint Lucia.
The 2023 Gros Islet Domestic Cricket Tournament, sponsored by District Representative; Kenson Casimir, continued with a 25 over side Developmental Match among Male Under 15 players together with Female Under 19 players on Thursday, February 2 at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
The teams were led by Windward Islands Under 15 players; captain THEO EDWARD and LEON ALEXANDER. THEO EDWARD’S TEAM batting first made 218 for 4 in their allocation of 25 overs, with skipper Theo Edward stroking a well played 94 which included 17 fours and three sixes, Kensley Paul retired not out on 56 with eight fours and Jaheem Simeon 13 in Saint Lucia.
The wicket takers for LEON ALEXANDER’S TEAM were; Aaron St. Clair with 3 for 41 in 4 overs and 1 wicket to Bjorn Fanis. In reply, LEON ALEXANDER’S TEAM was restricted to 110 for the loss of 11 wickets in their 25 overs, with Leon Alexander making 37 and Niesha Cherry 10.
The wicket takers for THEO EDWARD’S TEAM were; Zinakki Louis 3 for 2 in 2 overs, Jaheem Simeon 3 for 22 in 3 overs, Nathaniel Joseph 2 for 10 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each to Aiden Scholar, Jaden Khodra and Selena Ross in Saint Lucia.
The tournament continues on Saturday, February 4 with another developmental match, this time among younger Developmental players ages 13 years and under from 10:00am at the Gros Islet Playing Field. On that same day, GERSON STRIKERS plays MELIUS CHALLENGERS from 2:00pm in a 50 over a side match at the same venue.
On Sunday February 5, EDWARD BLASTERS comes up against GOODMAN WARRIORS in a 50 over a side match from 10:00am at the Gros Islet Playing Field in Saint Lucia.
