Castries, Saint Lucia: The 2022 Windward Islands Under-19 Cricket Champions Saint Lucia returned home from Dominica, where they won the WINLOTT INC two-day Cricket Tournament

To meet the Champions was a delegation from the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports led by Minister Kenson Casimir and Director of Sports Mr Jim Xavier.

The Saint Lucia National Cricket Association led by President Julian Charles and Treasurer Celestin Laurent were also at hand to welcome back the National Team home.

Saint Lucia has welcomed the triumphant return of our Boys in Blue. Saint Lucia’s National Under-19 Cricket Team carried the champions trophy and took time to pose with Minister for Youth Development and Sports, Kenson Casimir and Director of Sports, Jim Xavier on their return via the Ferry Terminal on Thursday 14th July 2022. 

 Saint Lucia’s Zaida James bowled tightly and then hit an unbeaten half-century to guide the Windward Islands over Jamaicans in the West Indies Under-19 Women’s Tournament in Trinidad and Tobago on Monday. 

 Skipper Tarasque Edward and all the other team members also gained appreciation from the country, and the management of the team must be commended, also Coach Garey Mathurin and Manager Dave Albert.

National male Under 19 Cricket Team named, with the majority of players part of or affiliated to the Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Program.

The government extended congratulations to the entire National Under 19 Cricket Team and reserved players.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Program wish to acknowledge the proud achievement of Grassroots members.

Further, Grenada finishes second to St. Lucia, who won their final match against Dominica.

The U-19 cricket tournament of the Windward Islands was held in Dominica on July 6, 2022, where the matches were held in different stadiums.
