Castries, Saint Lucia: SAINT LUCIAN TARRIQUE EDWARD PICKS UP THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD OF MVP OF THE 2022 CWI REGIONAL RISING STARS UNDER 19 MALE 3-DAY CRICKET TOURNAMENT.
TARRIQUE EDWARD was awarded for his stand-out all-round performances during the tournament, at the closing ceremony which took place on Saturday August 27, 2022 in St Vincent & the Grenadines.
The stylish all-rounder completed the Regional Rising Stars Under 19 Cricket Tournament with an aggregate of 159 runs including 2 half centuries, 65 vs the Leeward Islands and a hard-fought 81 not out vs Trinidad and Tobago.
With his right arm off spin, EDWARD picked up an impressive 15 wickets. His best bowling figures were, an amazing 8 wickets for 75 runs in 31 overs vs the Leeward Islands. He also picked up two 3-wicket hauls, 3 for 18 vs Barbados and 3 for 62 vs Jamaica.
TARRIQUE was also adjudged man of the match in the game between The Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago with his fighting knock of 81 not out and taking one wicket.
TARRIQUE EDWARD has no doubt distinguished himself as one of the most exciting young cricketers in the region. Saint Lucia welcome back Windward Islands Under 19 players TARRIQUE EDWARD, NOEL LEO and KEVIN GASSIE from the CWI Regional Rising Stars Under 19 Male Cricket Tournament which ended in St Vincent & the Grenadines on Friday August 26.
On the same flight was St Lucians on the Windward Islands Under 15 Cricket Team who completed the CWI Regional Rising Stars Under 15 boys Cricket Tournament which ended on August 26 in Grenada.
The players are JOHNATHAN DANIEL, LEON ALEXANDER, TYLER VENNER and SKIPPER THEO EDWARD.
