Castries, Saint Lucia: St Mary’s College and Leon Hess Comprehensive will contest the Grand Final of the 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary School 40 Overs Under – 15 Cricket Tournament.
On Wednesday July 6 at the Gros Islet Playing Field, St Mary’s College advanced to the Tournament’s Grand Final after completing a hard fought 35 run victory over the St Lucia Sports Academy.
Batting first after winning the toss, St Mary’s College was dismissed for 147 in 27.3 overs with Tyler Venner making 40 not out, captain Johnathan Daniel 31 and Shakim McRae 28.
The wicket-takers for the St Lucia Sports Academy were, captain Theo Edward with 3 for 32 in 8 overs, Nathaniel Joseph 3 for 38 in 6 and 1 wicket each to Sheldon Willie, Jaquane Joseph and Kaylum Hippolyte.
In reply, The St Lucia Sports Academy was bowled out for 112 in 27.3 overs with Theo Edward top scoring with 51 and Zanakki Louis making 25.
The wicket takers for St Mary’s College were, Aiden Daniel with 4 for 18 in 4.3 overs, Tyler Venner 4 for 27 in 7 overs and 1 wicket each to Dante Eugene and Shakim McRae.
The 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary School 40 Overs Under – 15 Cricket Tournament Grand Finale will take place on Thursday July 7 between LEON HESS COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY and ST MARY’S COLLEGE from 10:00am at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.
