Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports began its talent search for potential Under 15 male cricketers on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. This venture begins the Ministry’s preparation of it’s team for the Windward Island Winlott Under 15 Cricket Championship to take place in December.
The school covered thus far were Stanley Jon Odlum Secondary, Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary and Choiseul Secondary.
The coaching party consisted of Senior Cricket Coach Alton Crafton, Youth and Sports Officer Clivus Jules, and Cricket Coaches Junior Derose and Malika Edward. The coaches were also assisted by Kimani Melius and Lee John.
The talent search continues for the rest of this week at secondary schools islandwide.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots regular Saturday Morning Cricket Development Program continued on October 8, 2022 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground with an exciting and fun-filled training session.
Seventy-one (71) young male and female cricketers had a wonderful time
during the four-and-a-half (4 1/2) hour-long session from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
The session took the following format:
* Prayers/ Welcome etc.
* Ice-breaking activity among younger participant.
* Warm-up activities (an exciting catching game).
* Physical Conditioning (Uper body and Core strengthening).
* Game sense in Fielding (crow hop method & target throwing).
* High and close catching.
* Game sense in a match setting for older participants.
* Introduction to hard ball (batting and bowling) with younger participants ages 6 to 12 years old.
* Mini cricket match for younger participants.
The coaches who conducted the training session were Alton Crafton, Malika Edward, and Mateo Boulonge with special assistance from Kimani Melius.
