Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia Sports Academy outlined through its Facebook Page that the netball team has started the season with a number of matches.
The SLSA netball team has started the season UNDEFEATED, showing us true versatility in their sporting abilities. The newly formed Netball team comprises footballers and track athletes who were meticulously recruited by their Physical Education teacher and past National Netballer, Michelle Rogers.
With limited training but impressive talent, our girls have managed to dominate all matches so far.
The academy also extended good luck to the ladies of SLSA as they continued their netball journey.
Saint Lucia Sports Academy u19 team played Sir Ira Secondary at the Vigie playing field yesterday. It took SLSA 7 seconds to score after Nathaniel Noel’s 60 yards assist to a running Kyle Jn Baptiste who, with 2 touches made scoring look easy.
A shocked Sir Ira still trying to regroup saw Traylan Henry score with just 10 minuted played.
SLSA 3 – Sir Ira 0
SLSA scored 2 more goals before half time from Eymani Butcher then Nathaniel Noel ending the half with a 5 -0 scoreline.
In the second half Sir Ira made adjustments to better cope with the attack from SLSA, but Nathaniel Noel made space for himself and scored from 35 yards out extending the lead to 6 – 0.
Minutes later Eymani Butcher scored, being the third player with 2 goals.
Just before the final whistle David Blackman registered his first of the tournament ending the game with Saint Lucia Sports Academy defeating.
Sir Ira 8 – 0.
The Sports Academy u19 next plays Castries Comprehensive Secondary School.
SLSA kicked off the football tournament when they came up againts Micoud Secondary U15 at the SLFA’s Technical Center in Grande Riviere Dennery.
The Sports academy always worked for the development of the sports sector across the nation.
