Saint Lucia signs agreement for construction of Grand Hyatt Hotel in Choiseul 

The government of Saint Lucia signed a development agreement for the construction of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Choiseul- the island is the northwesternmost island in the Solomon Islands chain of the western South Pacific.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The government of Saint Lucia signed a development agreement for the construction of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Choiseul. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information of Saint Lucia through his social media and shared details of the construction of the project.

He also outlined the other aspects of the projects. 

He noted, “This morning, the Government of Saint Lucia signed a Development Agreement for the construction of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Choiseul.”

This project was initially conceived in early 2016 but was stalled after the change of Government in June 2016 for various reasons. 

Ernest Hilaire asserted that the government of Saint Lucia had resolved all the issues and cleared the way for final preparations, which should come into force for the commencement of construction of the Hotel. He outlined that the construction will be started in early 2023 and completed in early 2025. 

“We were finally able to resolve all the issues and eventually clear the way for final preparations to be made for the commencement of construction in early 2023 and completion in early 2025, “underlined Dr Hilaire

He added that there had been no new hotel construction or major expansion for over five years. Ernest Hilaire outlined that the construction work has also started on the Cas En Bas Beach Resort and the expansion of Sandals Halycon. 

Hilaire added, “Investment is returning to Saint Lucia. After no new hotel construction or major expansion for over five (5) years, work has started on the Cas En Bas Beach Resort and the expansion of Sandals Halycon.” 

He stated that More announcements would soon be made. Look out for the Formal launch of the Community Tourism Programme.
