Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia was the proud host for the Official Release of CXC Results for the May/June 2022 sitting, which took place at the Vladimir Lucien Theatre, Gros-Islet, Monday, September 5 2022. Regional partners and stakeholders joined the live broadcast.

In attendance were the Registrar and CEO of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Dr Wayne Wesley, and Director of Operations, Dr Nicole Manning.

Minister of Education Shawn Edward made the feature address expressing his gratitude for choosing Saint Lucia for such an important observance and congratulated CXC for their resilience and managing the successful rollout of the regional exams during the unrest of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Dr. Manning’s presentation gave a regional outlook for the examinations which span CAPE, CSEC, CPEA and CVQ highlighting the wins and shortcomings of this year’s roll out.

Dr. Wayne Wesley gave brief remarks, underscoring the council’s commitment to meeting global trends and challenges in education and maintaining the high standard of the regional educational assessment system.

The Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training is aware of situations at various schools which have sparked public discussion as it relates to issues of grooming in schools on the island.

The Ministry wishes to assure the general public that it remains committed to reviewing the present positions with a view to addressing the current issues from a holistic standpoint.

As such, the Ministry is committed to ensuring that an evaluation of this nature includes the thorough participation of all relevant stakeholders in determining the best way forward.

The Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training of Saint Lucia has also shared an update on the Transportation Subsidy Programme and asked parents and guardians of students registered for the programme. The services will be resumed on Monday, September 5, 2022, with the same buses from last school term.
