The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs of Saint Lucia have reported a total of 73 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, February 13.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs of Saint Lucia have reported a total of 73 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, February 13.

The following samples of the patients were collected and processed on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from overall 370 samples, of which around 264 samples were processed from the Ezra Long Laboratory, and about 106 samples were from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited.

These samples were collected and processed between February 10, 2022, to February 12, 2022. The patients who tested positive during this period make up over 19.73% of total samples that have been processed on the following dates.

At the same time, these new cases have brought the overall tally of patients diagnosed in the nation to approximately 22,121.

According to the information released by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, “The confirm news have also been received of the recovery of around 33 patients who have been diagnosed with contagious mutants.”

It has brought the tally of the total number of active COVID-19 in Saint Lucia to date to 1,544. Currently, there are 39 patients who have been tested positive against COVID-19 admitted at the Respiratory Hospital, and one of them is critically ill, and one of them is severely ill.

At the same time, overall 51, 817 individuals have been completely vaccinated against COVID-19. Whereas 5,812 individuals have been partially vaccinated, and 6,571 have received their booster shots.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs has ensured that the government will further work to ensure all the citizens of Saint Lucia get themselves and their family members completely vaccinated and receive booster shots to ensure extra shield and safety protection against contagious mutants.
