Castries, Saint Lucia: The preliminary round of 16 of the Primary Schools Football competition of Saint Lucia kicked off on Tuesday 16th May at venues island wide with the following results.
Desruisseaux, Combined with a beaver trick from Daijhan Charles and the other from Keshawn Canchon defeated River Doree combined 5 – 2, whose goals were scored by Quake Nestor and Nyhille Charles.
Gordon / Walcott Mason Memorial and Dennery Primary played to a 1 – 1 draw. Mikel Flourent scored for Gordon Walcott Memorial, while Leon Vidal scored for Dennery.
Dame Pearlette Louisy edged out Laborie Boys Primary 4 – 3. Scoring for Dame Pearlette, were Landon Felicien with a brace and the others by Shiloh John and an own goal, while Jermain Toussaint with a brace and Mario Eugene scored for Laborie Boys Primary.
Soufriere Primary with goals from Deslie Edward and Armani Didier defeated Gros Islet Primary 2 – 1. Dejean Solomon scored for Gros Islet Primary.
Canaries Primary defeated Camille Henry Memorial 6 – 1, with goals from Trenton Henry a hat trick and the others from Caison Clement, Carson Jn. Charles and Teyon Mason.
In the second game on Sunday 14th May at the Bordelais Correctional Facility Safe Space Futsal competition at the Richfond Playing Field, La Clery in a hard fought game got the better of Renee FC of the Bordelais Correctional Facility 3 – 1.
Scoring for La Clery were Garvin Butcher with a brace and Ronaldo Emmanuel. Qrenty Wilson scored for Renee FC. The player of the Day was goal keeper Leroy Stephen of Renee FC who executed numerous exciting and timely saves.
Mabouya Valley with goals from Hazia Pelage. Annia Vitalis and Vickey Edward defeated Back on Track 3 – 1 in a female encounter of the Bordelais Correctional Facility, Safe Space Futsal tournament at the Richfond Playing Field on Sunday 14th May.
