The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) will mobilize its diverse and multi-talented youth resource capacity as part of its “Soufriere 2040” symposium series. The series has been conceptualized by the SRDF to invite stakeholders from various sectors to help craft Soufriere’s 20-year development plan. Sports, Education, and Agriculture Symposia have so far been hosted under the Soufriere 2040 banner.

The series of symposia continues Thursday, 15th September, 2022 with a Youth Symposium. Youth participants will engage in discussions that will critically assess youth development issues. The dialogue will be led by facilitators Jonathan Chalon and Ajani Lebourne.

Both facilitators bring years of experience in Youth Advocacy, Leadership, Youth Development and Mentorship to the discussion table. The invited youth participants will represent a wide cross-section of organizations and institutions.

The S.R.D.F’s Youth Symposium will seek to:

– Co-create a vision for youth development in Soufriere.

– Facilitate a youth-friendly space for meaningful youth dialogue on key issues affecting youth.

– Examine critical actions and pathways to success that support a progressive youth development agenda.

– Build networks, relationships, and partnerships among youth agencies in the community and beyond.
