Saint Lucia: Norwegian Encore makes maiden call to Port Castries with 3,998 guests

Saint Lucia welcomed the Norwegian Encore to Port Castries for the first time. The ship carried a total of 3,998 guests and 1,735 crew on December 29, 2022.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia welcomed the Norwegian Encore to Port Castries for the first time. The ship carried a total of 3,998 guests and 1,735 crew on December 29, 2022. 

Norwegian Encore made her maiden call to Port Castries, Saint Lucia. Encore is a Breakaway Plus-class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. It is the fourth Breakaway Plus-class ship in the fleet, following sister ships Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy, and it debuted in November 2019. The ship is presently the largest of the fleet.

Captain Niklas Persson and crew were welcomed by officials of the Ministry of Tourism, SLTA, Invest Saint Lucia, SLASPA and Cox and Company Limited.

Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister- Ernest Hilaire expressed pleasure in welcoming the Norwegian Encore to Port Castries for the first time. He added, “Today, Saint Lucia welcomed the Norwegian Encore to Port Castries for the first time.” 

Hilaire added that the ship, which debuted in November 2019, has a capacity of 3,998 guests with 1,735 crew. It’s always a pleasure to have these inaugural calls to our shores as it shows the courage the cruise companies have in our beautiful island home.
