Saint Lucia: Northern and Southern divisions Table Tennis teams qualify for quarterfinals 

The Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia announced the Table Tennis teams from both the northern and southern divisions qualified for the quarterfinals.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia announced the Table Tennis teams from both the northern and southern divisions qualified for the quarterfinals. 

The Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia stated that the Inter-Secondary Schools Table Tennis Teams Competition Preliminaries was a success, with the teams from both the northern and southern divisions qualifying for the quarterfinals. 

According to the ministry, the two venues were used for the preliminaries. Grande Riviere Human Resource Centre and the Castries Table Tennis Centre. 

Further, in the boy’s teams of the table tennis event, the eight teams that qualified for the quarterfinals are as follows;

Vieux Fort Comprehensive (A), Soufriere Comprehensive (A) and (B) team, Stanley Jon Odlum Memorial (A), St. Mary’s College (A) and (B) team, Castries Comprehensive Secondary School (A) and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.

The girls’ preliminary rounds saw the teams of the table tennis: Soufriere Comprehensive (A) and (B), St. Joseph’s Convent (A) and (B), Castries Comprehensive Secondary (A) and (B), Corinth Secondary and Patricia D. James Secondary.

The quarterfinals through to finals will be played on Friday 4th, November at the Beausejour Indoor Facility from 10 am.

The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia initiated the school sports program for Term One. The programme got underway on October 31, 2022, with table tennis. 

According to the sports ministry of Saint Lucia, various matches were played in the team’s preliminary round at the Grand Riviere, Dennery Human Resource Center and Table Tennis Center, Castries.

Further matches continue during the week in teams, doubles and mixed doubles categories.

The Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports of Saint Lucia also shared the update on the other upcoming events this term, which will include netball (Under-15 & Under-19), football (Under-15 & under-19), and basketball (Under-19 and 3X3 female and Under-15 male). Games will be hosted at venues island-wide.
