Castries, Saint Lucia: The Northern Cluster Grassroots/ Ministry of Youth Development and Sports 2022 Summer Cricket Camp (Day #21) took place on Friday, August 19, with Cricket Match Day #4 at the Gros Islet Playing Field. Two matches were again played for the day.

Game #1 among boys 15 years and under together with a female under 19 players and Game #2 among under 19 male and senior players.

Game #1 was captained by National Under 19 player Khan Elcock and Windward Island Under 19 Female player Skyy Smith.

Smith’s team batting first was dismissed for 157 in 20.3 overs, with Namiha Marcellin top scoring with 23, Captain Skyy Smith 21 and Darvin Ford 16.

The wicket takers for Elcock’s team were Sheldon Willie with 2 for 12 in 3 overs, Ashton Alexander 2 for 18 in 3 overs and one wicket each to Christian Peter, Henry Joseph, Jack Surage, Jn Claude Emmanuel and skipper Khan Elcock.

In reply, Elcock’s team finished on 146 for 8 in 20 overs, with captain Khan Elcock leading the way with 31 and Christian Peter making 19 not out. The wicket takers for Smith’s team were Darvin Forde with 2 for 42 in 5 overs and one wicket each to Niesha Cherry, Jaheem Simeon, Kanil Nelson, Marshall Lammy and skipper Skyy Smith.

Game #2 was captained by National Under 19 player Ryan Goodman and National Reserve Under 19 player Lee John.

Lee John’s team batting first made 161 all out in 25.1 overs with Amari Venner making 41, Tristan Norbal 26, Khan Elcock 23, Ashton Alexander 14 and Desne Gidharry 11.

The wicket takers for Goodman’s team were Isaiah Jones with 5 for 49 in 6 overs, Royce Paul 3 for 19 in 7.1 overs, Joshua Cepal 2 for 12 in 3 overs and one wicket to Bjorn Fanis.

In reply, Goodman’s team closed their inning on 165 for 2 in 21.3 overs with Royce Paul making 43 not out, Joshua Cepal 40 not out, Bolton Sayers 24 and Caleb Thomas 15.

The wicket takers for Lee John’s team were Darvin Forde and Amari Venner, with one wicket each. The younger camp participants, ages 5 to 11, had lots of fun together with Cricket Development activities.
