Castries, Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. Mens National team has intensified its preparation for participation in its return leg matches in the Concacaf Nations League competition.

Following three Friendlies in Grenada last week, the squad will be further strengthened by local and foreign based players as they continue preparation for their Concacaf Nation League engagements. To this end, the team and technical staff will be housed at Coco Palm from Friday, 17th March till the 21st, following their departure to Anguilla on the 22nd March, where they will play their return away leg on the 24th March 2023.

The team will then leave Anguilla for St. Lucia on the 25th March, where they will once again be housed at Coco Palm for their return Home game against Dominica on Monday 27th March at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, one game was played in the SLFA’s Inc. senior Women’s competition on Thursday, 16th March, at the Desruisseaux Playing Field.

There Vieux Fort South romped home winners over Dennery 15 – 1.

They were indebted to Megesh Savery for a beaver trick in the 14th, 20th, 22nd, and 85th, min; hat tricks from Ernasha Nanton in the 11th, 28th, 37th, min; Jahnya Charlemagne 1st, 73rd, 84th min; Sage Lionel 44th, and 90th min, Star Auguste 62nd and one min of added on time and Eto’a Grey 56th min.

Elsewhere, one match was played in the La Clery Football League Boys Under 15 tournament on Thursday 16th March at Agard. In the return leg Radics edged out host Agardianz 1 – 0 with a goal by Evan Stoute.

The competition returns to the La Clery Playing Field with LA All Stars playing another Guest team CT Foundation out of Roseau on Saturday 18th March at 10.30 am.

The Bordelais Correction Facility Safe Space Futsal tournament organized in collaboration with the St. Lucia Football Association Inc. Rise St. Lucia and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.

The tournament which features 49 teams – 40 males and nine females will kick off on Sunday 19th March 2022 at the Richfond Playing Field in Dennery.

The matches scheduled for the opening are as follows.

  • Conway vs. Braville FC – Female
  • La Clery vs. LT United
  • CDC vs. Rene FC
  • Marchand vs. Jules FC

In other related news, The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. will host it fourth C- Licence Course for local coaches starting this weekend. About 15 local coaches and Technical Directors from Clubs playing in the First and Second Division have registered for this Course. 

The Course will run from the 18th to the 22nd of March, will be held at the office of the St. Lucia Football Association Inc. and will be conducted and facilitated by Emmanuel Bellas, Cess Podd and Solomon Alexander.
