One realises that the Festive Season is really upon us as the SLFA Inc. Women’s Football competition kicked off at the Anse La Raye playing Field on Saturday 17th December with a double header.

It was truly a time of giving and sharing as Canaries lit up the arena with a 11 goal fest against Dennery. It was a clinical display from the lasses of the West Coast who got their campaign going with a beaver trick from Kylah Solomon in the 27th, 42nd, 43rd and 87th min, a hat trick from Casandra Shepherd 6th, 38th and 55th min a brace from Tanicka Bernard 17th and 20th min and the others from Steffany Allain 22nd and a gift from Krishna Sealy in the 3rd min.

History was created on the day as for the first time in the annals of St. Lucia Football four female officials carried the game between Vieux Fort South and Desruisseaux.

Carrying the whistle was Alvina Francis ably assisted by Irina Wilson, and Niuika Farlane with Kierra Clarke serving as the Fourth Official. They must be complimented for their tenacity, interest and dedication to the Sports.
